At our last Oktoberfest in 2019 we sold out of pretzels! So this year, there will definitely more of those, as well as pizza, beautiful meats fresh from the braai and, of course, a German food stall. Please see below for more details:
The Real Pizza Company will be parked up on the Green to serve their amazing wood fired pizza. With four stores, including in Crawley and Copthorne, they also deliver their amazing freshly made pizza to local villages in West Sussex. Like us, The Real Pizza Company consider themselves artisans, using Canta Napoli flour type 00, imported from Italy, to make their dough. We are very pleased to say however, that despite being true masters of their craft, they do not shy away from the most essential of pizza toppings, pineapple! We applaud them!
The Real Pizza Company does not use dairy in the making of their bases and gluten free ones will also be available on request.
Braai Club are friends of ours and we eat vast quantities of their droewors and biltong! Therefore, we are thrilled that they will be joining us at Oktoberfest this year, to serve some of their amazing South African inspired grilled meats. Braai Club use traditional methods, cooking over an open fire to smoke and enhance the flavours of their mouth-watering dishes. All their meats are ethically raised locally, alongside which, vegetarian and vegan food will also be on offer. Our mouths are watering just thinking about it all…
And last, but certainly not least, Braat House! They can usually be found in Hindhead on Fridays and Saturdays, but we have been lucky enough to secure them for Oktoberfest! They will be bringing their German charcoal swing grill to the event, to cook a range of bratwurst, including a vegan version. They will also be offering bratkartoffeln (potatoes cooked with bacon and herbs) and fries.
We can just picture it now, a stein in one hand, a double curry wurst in the other, whilst listening to our Ooompah band, Die Dorf Fest Kapelle. It’s almost tempting to don our lederhosen after all…!
As well as these three mighty food stalls, there will be coffee available should the weather turn cool and hopefully ice cream should we have the Indian summer we would all love!
